Dropped into a group chat, forwarded with no explanation: watch this. Not because it is trending, but because it says something the sender cannot. The video is not behaving like content. It is behaving like language.
That is part of why it lands so hard now. It feels like a reflex the culture used to have with images, then let atrophy somewhere between MTV, the feed, and the infinite scroll. It works less as an example of the problem than as a test of what our current image habits can still register.
